Ziggy- McDowell's story
Please contact Jamie (jamie.stillwachs@bwar.org) for more information about this pet.
Hi I'm Ziggy, and BOY do I have a story to tell! I came to Brother Wolf when I was only about 5 weeks old, along with the rest of my brothers and sister. We were very, very sick, and our BWAR friends didn't even think we would survive. Our foster mom cared for us day and night around the clock and nursed us back to health! Unfortunately, the damage was already done before I came to Brother Wolf. I had a respiratory infection so bad it had caused a lot of booboo's to my eyes, including damaging my corneas, causing ulcers in my eyes, causing my eyelids to roll inwards, and generally just causing me to lose a lot of vision and be in a lot of pain. It was awful! My foster mom and veterinarians treated me and cleared up my infections, and then the time came for me to have surgery. I had surgery on both of my eyes to fix my booboos, and now I am feeling and doing SO much better! I'm like a new kitty! I have no more pain or discomfort, no more ulcers, my corneas are repaired, and I only have a little visible damage on my eyes.
My vet said I am done with my treatments and there's nothing else to be done, and I am finally free to find a forever home! I get around very well and don't bump into things nearly as often as I used to. My friends think my vision will probably always be a little impaired, but believe me it doesn't slow me down 1 bit! I am a very active kitten, very playful, very energetic, and I never run out of spunk. I LOVE other cats, LOVE dogs, LOVE kids, LOVE people, LOVE attention, LOVES snuggles, LOVE being held, LOVE being kissed... I seriously just love life and love it all! I am the happiest little guy you will ever meet. Please understand because I am a little vision impaired, I should never be allowed to go outdoors. I do get curious about what's outside the front door sometimes, but my foster mom tells me Nope! So I've never been outdoors. They say there is too great of a risk of me getting injured by another animal, car, or anything else because I can't see as well as other kitty's. With what I've endured so far in my short life, I sure don't want any more booboos or any more vet emergencies for a while, so please keep me safe inside if you become my mom or dad!
Because I am so highly social, my friends think I would thrive best in a home with other pets. I think I would get horribly bored and lonesome without some friends to play with. I've grown up in a foster home with many other cats and a young child and I just love all the company and attention.
If you think I could be a good fit for your home and family, please reach out to my foster mom for more info on me!

All Brother Wolf animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).
Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.
Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!
Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.
